I Love My Airman!

This post has been reposted from my old blog. This was originally posted on March 23, 2013.

One of the new topics that will be featured here on Operation MilSO is all about living life as a MilSO (Military Significant Other).

My Airman and I have been together for 2 years as of February 24, 2013! We have been through thick and thin and still love each other as much as we did when we first got together. He has saved me from so many awful situations, and he is truly my hero! As I am writing this, I have another 11 days until I see him graduate from Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas!

When it has been months without seeing him and with extremely minimal contact, every single call and letter means the world! I just spoke to him on the phone today and it was the best 10 minutes of my life. We talked about the silliest, goofiest things, but even the most trivial things were twice as exciting because I had been waiting to tell him about it all week! The distance truly makes you appreciate each other more. Whoever said "absence makes the heart grow fonder" hit the nail right on the head!

I am here to support all the MilSO's and those in LDR's who read this blog as well as anyone who needs advice at all!

Just a note, any comments made on this blog must respect OPSEC or they will be removed! Feel free to comment or e-mail me at op.milso@gmail.com if you have questions, need advice, or just want to talk. I can also post questions you send via e-mail anonymously on the site for others to help with.

Some "lingo" that will be used:
MilSO: Military Significant Other
Airman: Member of the US Air Force
USAF: US Air Force
BMT: Basic Military Training (aka Boot)
LDR: Long Distance Relationship
OPSEC: Operations Security
AFB: Air Force Base
